What should you do before starting the restoration work? : Fire and water Damage Cleanup

After flood damage it is necessary to restore your house. You must start the restoration work as soon as possible. It can help you protect you house from water damages in future. Whether you do the restoration work on your own or hire somebody for the restoration work, there are few things that you must always do, before you begin the restoration work:

•    Safety is one of the most important things that anybody can look for after water damage. Wear rubber boots, gloves and other protective clothes so as     to protect you from electric shocks.

•    You must record each and every detail of damages with the help of photos. This will help you to support your claims in case of flood damage.

•    Remove the excess of water out. Also remove the mud that has been introduced in the house.

•    Dispose all the things that cannot be restored.

•    Clean and dry your house.

•    Some decisions can be very difficult to make as it might involve throwing of some of the equipments with which you have been emotionally attached.

•    You need to arrange all the equipments that might be useful to carry on Fire and water damage cleanup.

•    Arrange N95 respiratory mask, gloves, goggles and protective clothing.

•    You will need to rent some of the equipments like dehumidifiers, vacuums, sump pumps etc.

•    Make sure that all the documents that were damaged by flood water are restored back.
